About

One of the behavioral risk factors of CVDs is physical inactivity. Low-income communities have higher levels of physical inactivity and thus higher risks of heart disease. There are many barriers to physical activity, such as affordability, lack of support, time-constraints, etc. These all drive physical inactivity, evident by the fact that low-income individuals have lower levels of physical activity compared to high-income individuals.
Heartful Healings' Exercise program aims to combat this by encouraging physical activity in low-income communities. We do so by providing exercise equipment and events.
